Dell published five issues of Barbie & Ken between May 1962 and January 1964. The stories dealt with the romantic adventures of the two characters, who were successful fashion dolls created by Mattel. Dell had a powerful licensing department and published various comic titles devoted to movies, television shows, etc.
This would be the only comic book series devoted to the characters until Marvel Comics began publishing the titles Barbie and Barbie Fashion in January of 1991.
Due to their antiquity and their interest to Barbie collectors, high-grade issues of the original Barbie & Ken comics can command several hundred dollars.
