      Monster Howls

Monster Howls on Ebay
Monster Howls One-shot. December 1966.

This was another effort by the people who brought you Cracked magazine, only publishing under a different name (was it ever used again elsewhere?). This explains the artwork by artist John Severin, whose style can be seen on the upper part of the cover as well.

This is exactly what one would expect of a magazine of this sort: photo stills from monster movies, with humorous captions added, as well as comic strip material, articles, and one-panel gags. Why this was put out as a one-shot instead of as a regular issue of, say, For Monsters Only, is a mystery, but it nevertheless makes for one more hard-to-find collectible for enthusiasts to track down.
